What’s up with the name, PookyHonk?
Good question.
Some toddlers make up games or imaginary friends. I made up a silly word that had no real meaning. Therefore, it meant everything.
I suppose that’s where my love of words began.
Today, PookyHonk acts as a reminder to explore work, and life, like a curious two-year-old.
Meet Mike
That’s me, Mike Irvine, talking into the banana. I spent years working in ad agencies with really cool office spaces. Now I freelance for brands and agencies from my garage. It has a payphone and a ping pong table.
Over 20+ years, I’ve worked on just about everything in just about every industry. As a visual writer, I enjoy conceptualizing integrated marketing campaigns, and writing and producing animated content that POPS.
When my kids were born, they inspired me to write picture books. My first book DORIS comes out in 2027 (McSea Books). My second book hits shelves in 2029. It has a banana in it, but that’s all I can tell you right now.
